Tel Hai Academic College, located at Israel's furthest northern border, offers academic and continuing education programs to some 3,500 students from throughout the country. The college sees itself as an agent of social and economic development in the highly strategic Upper Galilee region. Tel Hai College is located north of Kiryat Shemona, at the site of one of Israel's legendary pioneering settlements of the early 20th century.
Hillel began operating at Tel Hai College in 2007, offering a variety of programs to help students explore their Jewish identity in new ways. Hillel fosters community involvement and
tzedek projects that are infused with Jewish values and knowledge. Hillel also plays a pivotal role in developing encounters (
mifgashim) with the large Arab-speaking student population, supporting coexistence and tolerance.
Talia Itzkovitz is the director of the Hillel center in Michlelet Tel Hai. She coordinates with the other Hillel centers in Israel and with the Hillel Hativa staff in Jerusalem, and works with other student groups on campus to meet the needs of local students.
Hillel at Tel Hai College is generously supported by the Rashi Foundation and the Jewish Federation of San Francisco.
